Winners and nominees for the 2025/26 Club Awards

K Sports Hockey is delighted to announce the winners and nominees for the 2025/26 Club Awards, celebrating outstanding performances, progress and contribution across our senior and junior sections.

A night to celebrate the club
This season’s awards recognise players who have made a consistent impact on the pitch, those who have shown clear development, and members whose dedication off the field keeps the club moving forward. From junior newcomers to long‑serving volunteers, every category reflects the values of teamwork, commitment and sportsmanship that define K Sports Hockey Club.

Player of the Year awards
Player of the Year awards were open to squad members who played at least eight games for their respective teams during the campaign.
Men’s 1st XI Player of the Year

  • Winner: Dom Brown
  • Nominees: Howard Goacher, Mike Nock, Leon Stubley

Ladies’ 1st XI Player of the Year

  • Winner: Lou Griva
  • Nominees: Corrine Sinfield, Jo Fowler, Phillipa Ward

Men’s 2nd XI Player of the Year

  • Winner: Darren Body
  • Nominees: Aaron Divall, Gary Hickey, Luke Boniface

Ladies’ 2nd XI Player of the Year

  • Winner: Sarah Rees
  • Nominees: Sharon McAllan, Hayley Rees, Sue Rea, Kat Durling

Men’s 3rd XI Player of the Year

  • Winner: Josh Kennett
  • Nominees: Steve Moss, Riaan Maritz, Ed Sumner

Ladies’ 3rd XI Player of the Year

  • Winner: Abbie Rouse
  • Nominees: Alexis Maritz, Lorraine Mullaly, Molly Newell, Ella Hickey, Bella Wells

These awards underline week‑in, week‑out consistency, with each winner emerging from strong shortlists packed with influential team‑mates.

Young player, improvement and goal scorers
The club also recognised the next generation and those who have taken big steps forward this year.

Men’s Young Player of the Year

  • Winner: William Longley
  • Nominees: Josh Kennett, Oliver Toderick, James Longley

Ladies’ Young Player of the Year

  • Winner: Abbie Rouse
  • Nominees: Amber Hickey, Ella Hickey, Bella Wells, Megan Wood

Men’s Most Improved Player

  • Winner: William Longley

Ladies’ Most Improved Player

  • Winner: Emily Pearce
  • Nominees: Abbie Rouse, Molly Newell, Sarah Rees, Kat Durling, Ella Hickey, Bella Wells, Rachel Heathcote, Evie Geeson, Sophia Warner, Samantha Summers, Megan Wood, Tara Baker, Phillipa Ward

Men’s Top Goal Scorer

  • Winner: William Longley

Ladies’ Top Goal Scorer

  • Winner: Jenny Crome
  • Nominees: Alexis Maritz (L3), Abbie Rouse (L3), Sharon Flynn (L3), Jenny Crome (L2), Jo Fowler (L1), Kat Durling (L2)

These categories highlight both end‑product and development, with several players featuring across multiple shortlists after standout campaigns.

Veteran, junior and special junior awards
Long‑serving players and our youngest members also took centre stage.

Ladies’ Veteran Player of the Year

  • Winner: Sharon McAllan

Volunteer of the Year

Trevor Cruttenden Award

  • Winner: Mike Nock

Clubman of the Year

  • Winner: Richard Moon
  • Nominees: Harrison Wells, Matt Sharp, Paul Cook, Su Evans, Caroline Dave
